ABOUT ME
I spent the first 7 years of my legal career working in Washington DC at the U.S. Department of Transportation in the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). While there, I primarily worked on issues related to public transportation safety and with our Congressional and Public Affairs offices providing technical assistance to Congress and responding to their requests. Through this role I honed the skills required to identify potential policy and legal concerns and identify paths forward that would fulfill the Agency’s obligations while also achieving policy objectives.
During my time at FTA, it became clear to me how the well-being of our society and our communities is so closely tied to the services that local governments provide. I’m looking forward to using my legal and interpersonal skills to identify creative ways to further strengthen and invigorate communities across North Carolina that simultaneously address the unique obligations and characteristics of local government. At Sanford Holshouser, I’ll be working on our full range of public finance, affordable housing and downtown development matters.
I did my undergraduate work at the University of Georgia, got my law degree from UNC, and have recently started UNC’s MPA program. While in law school, I spent one summer with the Orange County County Attorney’s office and another one with the Charlotte City Attorney’s office.
I enjoy attending live sporting events (Heels by birth, Dawgs by choice, Steelers through love), watching network television, and hanging with my dogs, Jet and Mila.
