Pender County

Pender County is our longest continuously-served client. We opened our first file for Pender County on August 17, 1993. In 2024 we were proud to serve as bond counsel to the County on three big projects. We thank the County for the opportunity to work for them.

In August, the County closed on a $58 million financing for a new law enforcement facility. The County is building the facility on property given to it by the State.  We had some work to do to get the State to accommodate the County’s installment financing Limited Obligation Bonds against the State’s remaining interest in the property.

In late October, The County closed on a $40 million financing for a new human services building. The County will be able to use State reimbursement for State agency facilities to help pay the debt service.

Then in mid-November, the County issued $144 million in voter-approved general obligation bonds to finance a new K-8 school to accommodate the rapidly growing population on the County’s east side.
