We’ve written before about the requirement to send a notice to the “Joint Legislative Committee on Local Government,” with that notice due 45 days before the LGC considers a borrowing. It’s come up recently that not everyone is aware that requirement applies even when your utility loan is a loan from a State agency, such as a clean water loan.

It’s not hard to comply with this requirement, and any problem or delay in the filing will be at most a short-term schedule issue. But it’s one step that you can put on your checklist to be sure you don’t run into that particular difficulty.

Our previous post has a sample template for these “45-day” letters.
